FUNTASTIK  NEWS ABOUT OUR BELOVED NEW ORLEANS - fresh from Drew just for me & YOU : " Hi, Nina!........... you asked a few questions, and here are my best answers. Yes, yes, we do have a New Orleans Film Festival . It was supposed to take place the 6th through the 13th of October 2005, but of course the storm cancelled it. They are now planning a smaller one earlier this year, and then the full festival again in October. Here is the link:    http://www.neworleansfilmfest.com/ .                                                         Also,the 3rd Annual New Orleans  International Human Rights Film Festival  will take place on the 6th through the 15th of April at the Zeitgeist Multi- Disciplinary Arts Center. This is one of my personal favorite places in New Orleans. Its located in an art gallery within an  historic and culturally significant neighborhood (it was the main street and commercial district for African- Americans during the days of segregation and afterwards). Rene Broussard is the owner and manager and a fantastic person as well. Like yourself , he is also a filmmaker ...... Perhaps it would be a good venue for your Shiva night, and perhaps your documentary on Babaji and his teachings would fit perfectly in the Human Rights Film Fest? please check out the website here: http://www.zeitgeistinc.net/ . Once again Nina, I would like to thank you and your wonderful band for helping our local musicians. Music is definitely the glue that has always held this city together . Without out them, and artists like yourself helping out, we would truly be sunk. One of our most famous Music Clubs, and the most important historically, has also been helping local musicians, and puts on huge benefit shows every year to be able to purchase instuments for local school bands . It isn't as big as some or our Mardi Gras (Carnival) parades, but in addition to beads and cups, they also throw cabbages, carrots, and potatoes.
